- Cleaning the waterline - Floating debris such as suntan lotion, cosmetics, grass and insects will collect on the water surface and spa sides providing a source of food for bacteria and algae. A weekly clean around the waterline using AquaSPArkle Spa Surface Cleaner will easily remove unsightly waterline deposits.
- Cleaning the filter - The regular chemical cleaning of the filter cartridge will keep the filtration system working efficiently and help promote sparkling spa water that is easier to maintain. Use AquaSPArkle Instant Filter Cleaner as part of a regular cleaning routine for your hot tub filter cartridges. Instant Filter cleaner will rapidly remove grease and oil from the filter cartridges so should be used on a fortnightly basis, or more regularly if your hot tub seas heavy use. It is also imperative to give your filter cartridges a 'deep cleanse' (more thorough clean) on a monthly basis. This involves soaking the filter cartridge in a cleaning solution for a period of time. An ideal product for this is AquaSPArkle Immerse.
- Draining down your Spa - Over time, water absorbs minerals, chemicals and other soluble materials that leads to an increase in Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in the spa’s water. This reduces chemical efficiency, can create dull water and makes hot tubs harder to maintain correctly. To avoid this, as a guide, drain and refill every 4 to 6 weeks.
